Vitamin C Serum

Please give us a brief biography and a profile of your skin.

Hi, I’m Claire and I’m a 30-year-old business director from Leeds. I’m a skincare junkie and absolutely love to try out new skincare products. I work in marketing and so branding is very important to me; I’m a sucker for good packaging and a strong message. I’ve generally got quite clear skin as I only drink water and I’m vegetarian so don’t eat anything too bad for me. I do however have some sun damage and some redness and can often find my skin looks quite dull. I often find myself looking for skincare products that will give me a brighter, clearer complexion. I’m also very mindful now that I’m not getting any younger and need to use products that will help me to look youthful and reduce the appearance of any lines.

Tell us about your initial impressions of the Belle+So Beauty Vitamin C Super Booster Serum.

The first thing I noticed about the Vitamin C Serum for face was how nice it smelt; it’s got a lovely smell of orange. I’ve used other Vitamin C products in the past and they do all have that same citrusy scent, but it’s one that I love to smell in products for the face as it feels really fresh. I didn’t see the packaging until after I’d been using the product for a while as I was using a lab sample, but when I saw the packaging I loved the bold, bright colours and how much it stands out. It would definitely make me pick it up from a shelf packed with other beauty products.

Talk us through your experience of using the product over a 4 week period.

I initially started using the product on a morning but found that I wasn’t getting the best results as by the time I added SPF moisturiser, primer, moisturiser and the rest of my make-up I couldn’t tell if there was much of an affect. I also don’t think it give the product enough time to sink in and work its magic. When I changed and started to use the Vitamin C serum on an evening instead, that’s when I noticed real results. I started by using it every other day for my skin to acclimatise to the strong levels of Vitamin C and now I use it daily. I applied the serum onto clean skin after moisturising and found that it really worked to get into my skin, hydrating it and giving my skin an inner glow. I did occasionally feel the product tingling a bit, but this is normal for Vitamin C. As someone who’s had a lot of allergic reactions to other skincare in the past, I can say this worked fine for me and just generally helped my skin feel and look more radiant. I’d apply a moisturiser afterwards (my preference is one with hyaluronic acid) and I’d wake up in the morning and still see the affects of the glow from the Vitamin C serum. I’ve been using it every day now for about 8 weeks and love the results, I’ve already stocked up on another bottle.

Please give us your overall feedback on this product. Would you recommend it to others?

As a bit of a skincare junkie, it can take a lot for me to buy the same product twice, as I like to try new things. The Belle+So Beauty Vitamin C serum had me going back for more which is a really good sign! You know when you just love putting a product on your skin? That’s what this Vitamin C serum does for me. It’s a product I enjoy using as part of my routine and I’m so pleased I found it. I’ve been telling all my friends about it and would definitely recommend! Personally, I also really like the ethos and messaging of the brand around clean beauty, the environment and not testing on animals. As a vegetarian, I’m really against animal cruelty and would not buy any products that contain animal ingredients or that test on animals. I love to find new brands that fit with my ethics and are also really great to use and feel indulgent. Thanks for producing my new favourite Vitamin C serum, Belle+So Beauty!
