5 Tips for Skincare in Spring

Feeling good about spring with lockdown restrictions easing and the warmer temperatures? Us too! At the same time it’s also important to think about how to change up your skincare routine to adapt to the season. From moisturising to having a clear out, here are 5 skincare tips to try this spring.
Lighter Makeup
Spring is a time to glow and this generally means wearing less make-up so bright summer skin can take front and centre. Changing to a light cleanser will subtly take away make-up and help hydrate your skin without clogging up pores or leaving a sticky residue, which can often lead to breakouts - the last thing you need!
Have a clear out
Spring is synonymous with a good clean and for us that means checking the bathroom shelf to see which products are collecting dust and need to go. A good thing to look out for is the jar symbol which tells you how long you can safely use the product for after you’ve opened it. It might be time to throw away that 3 year old cleanser and refresh your lineup of go-to products.
Buffer Up
Sun’s out, gun’s out! Well, maybe not quite yet, but make sure you do pay them some attention. When the weather warms up, your spring routine isn’t just about your face, it’s about looking after the skin all over your body to take away dry, flaky winter skin in preparation for the summer months. We recommend using an exfoliating mitt in the shower and following up with moisturiser straight after towel drying.
It’s the same process for your face and you can benefit from all the effects of a facial with a good exfoliating face scrub. Buff away those dead skin cells to leave skin looking refreshed, glowing and ready for summer.
Moisturise
During winter your skin has been snuggled up under thick jumpers and scarves, but now it’s free! We often forget about this but those previously covered up areas can get especially dry, dehydrated and irritable.
Once you’ve exfoliated it’s time to start moisturising more and a light lotion like our Super Hydrating Jet Lag Cream is perfect! It can be used on all skin types and will help your skin to look radiant and glowing.
SPF, repeat, SPF!
This should be used during any season but even more so when the sun comes out to say hello. UVA and UVB filters affect the skin even on cloudy days, so you can imagine the damage it will be doing when it’s sunny. There are so many benefits to using SPF, not least protecting against sunburn, sagging skin, wrinkles and accelerated aging - some pretty important ones then!
Now put these tips into practice and go out and enjoy the warmer temperatures and brighter days!
